Wishing Star

May your wishes be many and all come true

One may wish upon a star
But doing so goes just as far
As looking back to yesteryear
And seeing, now, what wasn't clear

Heartaches happen everyday
But one thing that takes pain away
Is time . The healer of all things
But many times the scars it brings

Disfigures or engulfs ones soul
Or eats away and makes a hole
Creates a void, leaves one numb
That seems to be the rule of thumb

No perfect world will ever be
Man and woman can't be free
For choices that we often make
Cause anothers' heart to break

Cast no blame, that saying's true
You must do what's best for you
And so, alike, should everyone
Be true to self until life is done

Some stars illuminate just awhile
Enough to brighten up your smile
But then it might just disappear
And make one wonder "Was it here?"
